Thank you to everyone who has already shown us their support!
There are many ways you can support us – pop into our shop in Regent Street Rugby, follow us on Facebook or help spread the word about the work we do – businesses can even fund a work experience student.
Unfortunately some people we feel would benefit from our are struggling with funding. Many of them have recently left college, and now need a safe environment, (which will give them the time and support to develop skills for the workplace), whilst their parents or carers are at work. Experience tells us that when this funding is not granted the individuals can become isolated at home, which often leads to depression and loss of confidence. At Works 4 Me clients will be encouraged to take part in the day-to-day operation of the shop including upcycling furniture, handling money and interacting with customers. This will help to build confidence, increase social skills and improve self esteem. Some members may decide to undertake work placements after their confidence has grown. This will lead onto supported work placements, when appropriate.
Support a student
We currently take on students from Brooke school and Warwickshire collage for work experience. Work experience is now considered a valuable part of education, however some students are not currently able to attend mainstream businesses. We are looking for local companies to sponsor a client work placement. If you are interested, we would be glad to hear from you.
